Course Description: Master of eLearning
Transforming education for the future
HELI’s Master of eLearning course is created by industry and education experts for anyone who wants to build holistic knowledge and integrative approaches in technology-supported learning, educational and learning design and development. Demand for well-trained learning professionals is growing across education and industry sectors. Recent Covid-19 pandemic has intensified the needs for organizations and their eLearning professionals to develop competent digital skills and sound pedagogical knowledge and experiences to solve real business issues. This master’s course will provide graduates with requisite eLearning knowledge, skills and understanding to work effectively in academic and professional settings, and corporate learning and development settings.
Teaching and learning activities in this course have been designed to foster progressive and coherent achievement of course and subject learning outcomes regardless of a student’s place of study or the mode of delivery.

Course Learning Outcomes
The course learning outcomes for the Master of eLearning are:
- Integrate learning and teaching theory and practice into eLearning analysis, design, development, delivery review and management.
- Develop innovative eLearning solutions.
- Direct learning in eLearning environments.
- Devise means of communication of complex knowledge, concepts, ideas and skills clearly and succinctly through a range of media.
- Reflect on personal performance, the performance of higher education or professional learning practitioners and the performance of eLearning courses or subjects.
- Critically review learning and teaching theory and practice.
Course Structure
To qualify for the award, students are required to successfully complete the eleven (11) core units listed below (equivalent to a total of 96 credit points).
While not mandatory, it is recommended that students complete the course by following the unit sequence in the table below. Units denoted by (^) are delivered online and face-to-face; units denoted by (ᴼ) are only delivered online.
*A unit worth 6 credit points is equal to 0.125 Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (EFTSL).

Admission Requirements
Domestic
Applicants for this course must provide evidence that they hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in any discipline(subject to verification).
International
Applicants for this course must provide evidence that they hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in any discipline(subject to verification).
Applicants whose highest qualification was not delivered in English must demonstrate English equivalency by providing evidence of one of the following:
- Academic IELTS: 6.5 or higher overall, with no band lower than 6.0; OR
- IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): Overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18; OR
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Overall score 180, writing and speaking 180; OR
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall 176 with a with a writing and speaking minimum score of 169; OR
- PTE Academic Module with a minimum score of 58 with a writing and speaking section minimum of 50; OR
English For Academic Purposes Level 2 (EAP 2): Upper Intermediate ‘A’ grade or higher with IELTS 6.5 requirement.
Admission and English Language Requirements
To satisfy the entry requirements for admission to the Master of eLearning and Graduate Diploma of eLearning offered by the Institute, applicants must provide evidence that they hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in any discipline. Additional English language requirements for international students are provided in tab below.

Applicants with international qualifications not delivered in English must demonstrate English equivalency as follows:
- Academic IELTS: 6.5 or higher overall with no band lower than 6.0; OR

FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth Government loan available to eligible students enrolled in HELI Courses in order to help pay all or part of their tuition fees.
